Ag Leader Announces Advanced Seed Monitoring Functionality for INTEGRA™ Display

Posted December 3rd, 2010

AMES, IOWA, December 3, 2010 – Today, Ag Leader Technology, Inc., a leader in the development of precision farming solutions, announced the February 2011 release of Advanced Seed Monitoring through the SeedCommand™ system. Advanced Seed Monitoring – available on the INTEGRA™ display – provides planter performance monitoring of seed meter singulation, skips/doubles and spacing quality, along with population and spacing information for all rows when corn planting.

The INTEGRA display features a full-screen planter performance view that includes display items and bar graphs for population, singulation, skips/doubles and spacing quality. All of these features are available while the display is simultaneously performing guidance, mapping and autosteer functions.

“Growers looking to eliminate yield robbing planter problems such as poor seed spacing and singulation will find this system extremely valuable and easy to use. The INTEGRA display’s 12.1” screen provides the industry’s largest view of the performance of all rows. Problematic rows stand out with one glance at the screen,” says Roger Zielke, SeedCommand Product Manager. “A virtual seed trench view shows the placement of each seed of a problematic row to help determine if the problem is in the seed meter or seed tube.”

In addition, Advanced Seed Monitoring automatically determines and displays the rows operating at the highest and lowest levels for singulation and population. All of this functionality is joined with Ag Leader’s popular SeedCommand row shutoff and planter-drive modules on one screen. Existing INTEGRA and SeedCommand Seed Tube Monitor module owners can take advantage of Advanced Seed Monitoring with the February 2011 INTEGRA firmware update.

I have an Insight yield monitor (2 years old). Will it communicate with “Smart Sensors used on CaseIH 1230 planters? Can I use this monitor as a population monitor? The planter is setup to work with CaseIh’s Pro 600 monitor.

I have an Agleader insight monitor in my JD 9670 combine right now that I use for yield data. I’ve used an agleader 2000, 3000 before in previous combines. I just bought 2 new JD tractors which are auto steer ready. I want to use the monitor I use in the combine to steer the planter and record the hybrids and 1/3-2/3 split planter data so I won’t have to enter everything at harvest. I was told by a dealer that if I didn’t get unlock codes right away, I can’t use the insight monitor to do what I want. I was told by JD to switch everything to greenstar and throw the insight in the trash. An agleader dealer said I would have to update to an integra monitor to do everything I want to do, or switch to greenstar. I would have to be sure to purchase every possible unlock so I won’t have the same problem in a couple years when agleader makes another change.
Is there any way to get unlock codes purchased for my old insight to at least steer my other tractor if I purchase an Integra with Omnistar for the planter and combine?
Do I need to contact trimble about unlock codes?
I would think Agleader would support what they have sold.
I was never told that if I didn’t purchase unlock codes at purchase I wouldn’t be able to update features.
I told the agleader dealer to order me an integra with omnistar. But, I will talk to my JD dealer Feburary 3rd at JD days and discuss the problem with unlocking agleader features if not purchased right away.
JD says they don’t do things like that to their customers with greenstar.
Please respond to my concerns before February 3rd.
