Product Marketing Specialist

Location: Ames, Iowa

This position will connect farmers to the value their data holds when collected, analyzed and shared throughout their operation by championing Ag Leader’s full farm connectivity solutions. Interact face-to-face at the farm gate to understand grower and dealer needs while also working behind-the-scenes to execute the product marketing strategy including positioning, messaging and education.

  • Gain a thorough expertise of Ag Leader’s full farm data connectivity solutions (including InCommand displays, DisplayCast and AgFiniti) that facilitate the flow of valuable information throughout the grower’s operation.
  • Develop product positioning and compelling messaging that differentiates our connectivity solutions in the market.
  • Research how growers are utilizing and benefiting from data connectivity tools and build tangible examples and content to help tell the story.
  • Execute strategic marketing campaigns to drive overall product adoption, new product and feature education, and customer engagement.
  • Develop sales enablement tools focused on aiding field sales team and distribution network to communicate the value of data and the solutions available.
  • Conduct industry outreach and market education by participating in forums and industry events.
  • Stay in-tune with the market and competitive offerings and educate sales team on competitive advantages.
  • Partner with internal product and development teams to help identify customer problems and plan the product roadmap.
  • Assist in bringing new products and features to market.
  • Travel approximately 30%.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, agriculture
  • 3-5+ years experience in a marketing, sales or customer-facing role in agriculture
  • Familiarity with general farming practices in production agriculture
  • Hands-on experience using precision technology and software
  • Persuasive and charismatic presenter, comfortable presenting to small and large
  • audiences
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Proven success in a product management or product marketing role with go-to-market experience preferred
  • Agronomy background a plus
