Combining industry-leading precision farming displays with superior GNSS technology, Ag Leader is positioned to offer an end-to-end solution for guidance and steering.

“In developing our new GNSS products, we turned to NovAtel – the foremost manufacturer and innovator in GNSS technology – as our partner moving forward in this market,” said Matt Leinen, Product Manager. “We’re confident this relationship provides our customers with the best possible product combination available on the market.”

As a fully scalable, rugged Smart Antenna, the new GPS 6500 utilizes GLIDE, SBAS, TerraStar and RTK, and is designed to meet the need of extended RTK base lines in excess of 20 miles (32km).

A full-featured, easy-to-install system, GPS 6500 with RTK Relay provides RTK correction. The GPS 6500 can be combined with one of four Relay offerings: Relay 900, Relay 400, Relay CDMA or Relay GSM. Ag Leader Honored at Iowa State Dedication Ceremony for Elings and Sukup Hall

AMES, IOWA – On September 25, 2014, Ag Leader Technology Inc., joined the Iowa State University Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) for the dedication ceremony of Elings and Sukup Halls. The halls add a combined 173,000 square feet of classroom and research space to the Biorenewables Complex at Iowa State. Ag Leader donated $250,000 to this building project, which will be home to more than 800 graduate and undergraduate students.

“Ag Leader is proud to be part of such an opportunity to further the awareness of precision agriculture through state-of-the-art facilities for Iowa State students and faculty,” said Ag Leader President Al Myers. “These new classrooms and labs will provide a higher level of education and a place for students to gain hands-on experience with the technology.”

Three classrooms within Sukup Hall are named in honor of Ag Leader’s donation and offer students the ability to utilize the most advanced precision ag technology and software.

Iowa State Professor Matt Darr said, “Ag Leader has been a key partner in enabling us to maintain excellence in our precision ag teaching program.  Through the donation of hardware and software Ag Leader’s support ensures that our students are trained on the latest technology and exposed to hands-on labs that prepare them to contribute to the growing precision ag industry.”

Darr has seen tremendous growth in the demand for precision ag education and the Ag Systems Technology major at Iowa State. Over the last 10 years, he’s seen the program grow from approximately 20 students to over 160 enrolled this fall. He believes the demand from industry employers and the new facilities at Iowa State will ensure continued growth of the program and qualified graduates entering into the workforce.

“At Ag Leader, our mission is to deliver cutting edge precision ag solutions for our customers,” concluded Myers. “As the industry continues to grow and evolve, our mission cannot be complete without talented individuals coming into the workforce to develop new innovations.  We believe our investment in the Biorenewables Complex supports a bright future for our industry through ensuring higher education opportunities for the next generation of innovators.”

Ag Leader Announces OnTrac3™ Assisted Steering System

Ag Leader Announces OnTrac3™ Assisted Steering System

AMES, IOWA, August 1, 2014 – Ag Leader Technology today introduced its latest assisted steering system: OnTrac3. The newly designed OnTrac3 represents the
next generation of the company’s assisted steering system and features a number of improvements to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and the Mechanical Drive Unit (MDU).

A key update to Ag Leader’s assisted steering platform is the addition of an auto-calibration procedure. Through auto-calibration, OnTrac3 provides a simple and streamlined approach to vehicle tuning and calibration.

“With OnTrac3, users will see benefits from the upgrades within the ECU,” says Matt Pifkin, Steering Product Specialist. “Steering performance is better than ever with the implementation of nine-axis terrain compensation and an internal compass, both of which are new additions to Ag Leader’s assisted steering products.”

OnTrac3 also offers updates in the new Mechanical Drive Unit. “Building on the improvements to the ECU, we’ve implemented upgrades into the new MDU,” continues Pifkin. “The brushless, clutchless motor offers more torque for increased power and quicker response for faster steering, as well as quieter operation.” Additionally, added operator convenience comes in the form of LED diagnostic lights integrated into the MDU for at-a-glance system monitoring.

“We’ve taken what was a great product, in the OnTrac2+™, and improved it in virtually every way it operates,” concludes Pifkin. “OnTrac3 is really a great step forward for customers seeking an assisted steering system.”

OnTrac3 is available for order beginning August 4, 2014.
