Too little? Too much?  How is soil moisture affecting your yields?

Chances are good that most of us are either in the middle of harvest or have already finished, which means we’ve started to think back on all those ‘wish I would have, could have, should haves’… For some of us, those could haves are more painful that others – such as dealing with combines, grain carts or trucks stuck in the field due to all the wet weather we’ve had recently.  For others maybe we suffered through a wet spring just for the weather to turn dry when we needed the moisture.  Perhaps you had a great year, but still noticed how the yield in your lower ground dips a little on the yield monitor.  As you start to analyze your yield data, take a look at how at how the yield trends match up to field terrain and drainage issues you are dealing with.
