Tips from Tech: Pre-Harvest Maintenance

by Kati Nolting on September, 05 2013 in Ag Leader, Displays

It seems like yesterday when the Ag Leader YM 2000 display came onto the market and catapulted Ag Leader to the industry leader in yield monitoring capabilities. Today is no different, as Ag Leader remains at the forefront of precision agriculture by offering you the Ag Leader Integra® or Versa™ displays to assist in accurately obtaining yield data. The valuable content collected at harvest has been helping our growers make operating decisions ranging from tillage methods and seed selection choices to identifying areas in need of water management practices.  Customers also use this data to create variable rate prescription maps for both application and planting purposes.

As fall is quickly approaching and call volumes have started to rise on yearly combine maintenance questions, I want to provide our customers with some helpful tips to keep their system operating at peak performance to insure the data being collecting this fall will assist growers in making informative and profitable operating decisions for years to come.

To begin, please follow the links below to walk through inspecting the physical components located on your combine for proper functionality:

Pre-Harvest Preparation Part 1

Next, we will walk you through the pre-harvest calibrations as well as the moisture and weight calibration process that should be performed once harvest has started.

Pre-Harvest Preparation Part 2

Once you have finished inspecting your yield monitoring components and have properly calibrated your machine you are ready for fall harvest to begin!
