Name: Sam Worley

Title: Product Marketing Specialist

Hometown: Champaign, Illinois

How long have you been employed by Ag Leader? Just a little shy of six years.

What are the different positions you have held at Ag Leader? Shipping Clerk, Receiver, Technical Support Representative, Technical Information Writer, Product Marketing Specialist

How have you seen Ag Leader and precision ag as a whole change during your time here?

In my time here I’d say I have witnessed Ag Leader mature and become more professional. Not that it wasn’t before, it’s that processes and procedures have continued to evolve and the direction overall has become more intentional. This is a team focused on growth and success.

In the meantime, precision ag as an industry, from my perspective, has become more competitive. There are more players in the marketplace than ever before and precision ag means more things to more people, covers a broader term than before.

It’s an exciting time in precision ag. The industry continues to grow and innovate. Technology continues to find its way to new farms, even small farms, and cement its place there through the value it provides.

Still, the industry seems it is also in a time of transition and consolidation. There are industry leaders shaking out. During the ag market downturn, driven by lower commodity prices, the industry has witnessed mergers, acquisitions and buyouts, companies leaving the industry and slowed growth. Out of this, I think we’ll see companies that are better defined in what they do and will have increased importance in the marketplace.

What is your favorite thing about working here?
I love the culture and atmosphere here. Employees work together to achieve goals and help each other. Ag Leader is an excellent place to work.

What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy cycling, being outdoors, wrenching on various two and four wheeled projects and spending time with family and friends.
