Section III: CALIBRATE TOUCH SCREEN
The touch screen device has to be calibrated properly to provide accurate feedback of where your finger is pressing. The display comes from the factory with the touch screen pre-calibrated for use. Under most conditions, the touch screen will stay calibrated.
On rare occasion, the touch screen accuracy may "drift" from the original factory calibration. The most noticeable effect of touch screen drift is when you press a button, you have to press to one side of the button to activate it, rather than pressing at the center of the button. If this happens, the Calibrate Touch Screen function will allows an in-field calibration procedure to improve accuracy.
Press the Calibrate Touch Screen button to initiate the calibration procedure. A confirmation window will be displayed. If you wish to proceed press Yes. If not, press No.
When the screen clears, there will be instructions on the screen and a "target" in the upper left. The calibration procedure requires you to press on targets that appear in 8 different locations on the screen. All you need to do is press on each target for a moment.
Warning: Do not use sharp objects on the screen! Sharp objects may cause permanent damage.
It is recommended to use your finger. If you can not pass the calibration after several tries, you may want to use a more precise method. An object with a tip no sharper than 1/16th inch (1.5 mm) is recommended. Be careful not to rest your hand on the screen to prevent false touches. Try to avoid double presses, because the target will automatically advance to the next location. If you get an accidental press, just continue the procedure to the end and restart it.
When the 8 locations are pressed, a calibration result will be displayed. There are possible results:
A high accuracy is as good as the factory calibration.
A medium accuracy will still be precise enough for use by fingers.
A poor calibration is rejected and requires the calibration routine to be restarted.
If the calibration fails after multiple attempts, contact Ag Leader Technical Support for assistance.
The Memory Options are advanced tools that should only be used if the user has a complete understanding of the function and outcome or the user is directed by Ag Leader Technical Support to address a problem.
Create Backup File
Creates a comprehensive .ibk backup file on the external card of all data in the display. This backup file can not be processed by mapping software. This is primarily used as a display backup tool.
Restore from Backup
Restores data back into the display from a .ibk comprehensive backup file on the external card. This process will completely wipe the current contents of the display memory and replace it with the contents of the backup file.
Copy All Log Files
Copies all log files in the display to the card regardless of the last time files were copied.
Clear All Memory
Clears all data in the display. This destructive process is non-recoverable and should only be used to return the display to factory settings. All data, maps, configurations, management items, and settings will be erased permanently. The display provides the opportunity to create a .ibk backup file before the memory is cleared.
The Feature Unlock offers the ability unlock additional functionality to provide scalability of features and cost to suit each user's needs.
The Feature list on the Features tab of the Console setup screen displays the features that are available and the unlock state, either "Enable" or "Off", of each feature. To unlock a feature, highlight the feature you wish to unlock and press the Unlock button. A window is displayed that shows the display's serial number and a registration number of the feature.
Call a sales representative to have your display serial number and feature registration number ready. The sales representative will provide an Unlock Code for you to enter through the on-screen keyboard. The Unlock Code is unique to the display and feature, so if you have multiple displays, you will need to provide the serial number and registration number from each display to receive multiple unlocks.
