Locations: Multiple Locations (Central Illinois and Central Iowa)

Internship Dates: May 2022 – August 2022

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Agronomy Intern with a basic understanding of agronomy and precision agriculture technology. The Agronomy Intern will collaborate with the Ag Leader Precision Agronomist and facilitate data collection at Tech Trial sites. The Agronomy Intern will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with the Sales and Marketing Teams at Ag Leader and assist with dealer events over the course of the summer.

The right person will

  • Be motivated with a strong willingness to learn agronomy practices and take on new challenges.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality regarding company Tech Trials and grower information.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate field trials and on-farm studies conducted by the Agronomy Team
  • Observe and document field management practices
  • Attend and assist with educational training events
  • Assist in organizing and summarizing data from the Tech Trials and other research plots
  • Develop an understanding of Ag Leader technology and alternative platform precision farming technology
  • Work cross-functionally with Agronomy, Sales and Marketing, Product Management, Dealers, and Ag Leader customers

Qualifications/Skills

  • Actively working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Agronomy, Precision Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering
  • Highly detailed orientated and accuracy driven
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to work in a remote team environment
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Willingness to travel and work independently
