The Opportunity

The Senior Territory Manager will own the responsibilities of a key territory while also participating in department-level planning, project management and team development. This position will provide advanced learning and leadership development opportunities for the Territory Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities

    • Manage a defined territory
    • Mentor and help develop 1-2 new territory managers as directed by the Regional Sales Manager
    • Act as a voice of leadership within the sales team – this may include leading small groups, facilitating team development initiatives and sharing team & dealer feedback with department managers
    • Work with Regional Sales Managers to determine new sales training resources and to facilitate the roll out and integration of GIFT sales training across the team
    • Participate in strategic sales planning and speak into key decisions that affect the team
    • Help define and facilitate dealer development initiatives that fit within the department plan
    • Other projects as assigned
    • 70% Travel within territory and time in Ames

Qualifications & Skills

  • Have at least 3 years’ experience as an Ag Leader Territory Manager with having demonstrated a strong understanding of how to develop a territory for growth
  • Strong desire to contribute new ideas and be a part of department planning
  • Ability to brainstorm new ideas effectively as part of a broader team
  • Keen ability to understand how to analyze sales numbers and to demonstrate the sales process
  • Willingness to own extra projects and to drive collaboration to end results
  • Ability to communicate information and set expectations proactively
  • Comfortable presenting to small and large audiences and delivering information in a charismatic way
  • Strong teamwork and time management skills with ability to multi-task
  • Desire and drive to continue to develop personally and professionally as a leader in the company
