International Perspectives: The Ag Leader Europe Team Continues to Grow!

by Aug 10, 2012International Perspectives

Over the last few months, Ag Leader Europe has continued to add staff to their team. Over the next few weeks, I will be introducing the new members via this blog.

To start, I would like to introduce Gerrit Emmens who has been appointed by Ag Leader Europe as Service Manager EMEA. Gerrit comes to us with over 5 years of Precision Farming experience, especially with steering systems, and has just returned from a 2 week training session at Ag Leader in Ames.

Gerrit is living in the countryside in an old thatched farmhouse whose foundations date from 1632. His grandfather, and later on his father, farmed a mixed farm until 1990. Gerrit is married to Roelie, who has her own company. They have 3 children, all of whom have left home. He enjoys regular trips to Ireland for holidays but also enjoys other international travel to France and Germany. He is looking forward to visiting other countries as part of his job.

When he is not working, Gerrit enjoys breeding and training his Royal Dutch Sport Horses which are disciplined in jumping and dressage. In fact, he has some quite special horses! One is being sold to Thailand where the goal is to participate at the Asian Games in 2014. Another horse has been exported to the US and the most promising one is sold to Ireland where it is an approved stallion with a goal to compete in the Olympic Games 2016 dressage! And on top of that, he also bred one of the top young international jumpers of the Netherlands.

Gerrits motto to live by? Well, it is one that is common in the Precision Farming industry: “There are no problems, only solutions!”

Please welcome Gerrit to the Ag Leader team!
