Educational Program Update

by Jun 13, 2013Uncategorized

Ag Leader’s Educational Solutions program has seen a few transformations since the beginning of the year.  Our Educational Solutions staff has grown to include Sam Worley, hardware technical support representative, and Luke Bunkers, GPS/Machine Guidance Support Specialist. Sam and Luke along with Tyler Anderson and Adam Walters have been busy creating a new Online Educational Curriculum to provide educators with tools to help better understand and teach precision farming topics to their students.  This modular program will allow educators to develop personalized lesson plans based on the topics and the material provided through the online portal.  The curriculum will not only feature SMS Software materials and resources, but also materials designed to assist educators in teaching general precision farming topics and Ag Leader displays operation.

This new curriculum will be unveiled at this year’s Annual Educator’s Training event held August 6 – 8th at Ag Leader Academy in Ames, IA.  In addition to the online curriculum, the 4th Annual Educator’s Training event will be introducing new hardware demonstration packages available to purchase, see event agenda. These will include precision farming hardware and can-simulator packages that will simulate in field, hands-on precision farming experience while in the classroom. The event will conclude with a standalone SMS training on the third day. This training will provide a more traditional training for those that want to learn more about the SMS software and its functionality, see SMS training agenda.
